Sands Macau has become the largest casino in the world, with the opening of a new extension yesterday (23 August). The Treasure Level as well as extensions to the existing Sands Macau complex on the first and second floor, cover an area of over 6,000 square metres, a significant increase of 40% in space. An additional 273 gaming tables were installed, an increase of 58%; and so are the 365 additional slot machines.

After the extension, Sands Macau covers a total area of 229,000 square feet (or over 21,000 square metres), with 740 gaming tables and 1,254 slot machines specially designed for the Asian market.
